WHEELDRIVE – Mercedes-Maybach has unveiled the latest Mercedes-Maybach GLS, featuring comprehensive upgrades in design, technology, comfort, and performance. The luxury SUV arrives as the brand celebrates 140 years since the invention of the automobile and 105 years of Maybach.
On the outside, the new Mercedes-Maybach GLS features a redesigned illuminated grille, rose gold-accented headlights, a revised front bumper, and new exterior paint options. At the rear, the taillights now incorporate a three-dimensional Mercedes-Benz star signature, further reinforcing the model’s distinctive Maybach identity.
Inside, the cabin receives significant enhancements, including the new MBUX Superscreen, upgraded interior materials, improved acoustic insulation, and new massage functions for both the front and rear seats. The Burmester® 3D Surround Sound System with Dolby Atmos has also been upgraded with 15 speakers and a 710-watt amplifier.
Power comes from the latest M177 EVO 48-volt mild-hybrid V8 engine, producing 450 kW, with an additional 17 kW electric boost and 850 Nm of torque. Mercedes-Maybach says the new powertrain delivers quicker throttle response, improved efficiency, and smoother power delivery while maintaining the refined driving character expected of a Maybach.
Ride comfort has also been enhanced with the latest AIRMATIC air suspension, featuring cloud-based predictive damping that uses data from the Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Cloud to anticipate road conditions. Buyers can also opt for E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL, which adjusts the suspension up to 1,000 times per second to maximize ride comfort and vehicle stability.
On the digital front, the new GLS is powered by the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS), enabling over-the-air software updates, an AI-powered MBUX Virtual Assistant, and integration with ChatGPT, Microsoft Bing Search, and Google Gemini.
The luxury SUV is also equipped with the latest MB.DRIVE driver assistance technologies, including SAE Level 2 urban point-to-point assisted driving and MB.DRIVE Parking Assist, which now supports automated diagonal parking.
The new Mercedes-Maybach GLS is now available to order in China. Orders for the United States and Europe will open in late July 2026, followed by other global markets.
