WHEELDIRVE – PT Hino Motors Sales Indonesia (HMSI) has launched the Hino Bus 136 MDBL 4×4, a new heavy-duty bus designed for operations in extreme terrain such as plantations and mining areas. The vehicle was introduced during GIICOMVEC 2026, marking its first public debut.
Designed to transport workers from base camps or offices to operational sites, the Hino Bus 136 MDBL 4×4 is built to handle challenging road conditions. Unlike conventional buses, it features a 4×4 drivetrain system with a transfer case that distributes power to both front and rear wheels, ensuring optimal traction in off-road environments. The vehicle is also equipped with a front stabilizer, wider front track width to improve stability and reduce body roll, and high ground clearance to safely navigate steep, rocky, and uneven terrain.
The bus is powered by a Euro 4-compliant N04C engine and is engineered for intensive operations of up to 24 hours in demanding environments. It is currently the only bus in its class produced by an authorized sole agent (ATPM) in Indonesia and has obtained a Type Approval Certificate (SUT), allowing it to be registered and legally operated on public roads. This enables flexible use for both off-road and on-road operations.
“Hino understands that each industry sector has unique operational challenges. With the introduction of the Hino Bus 136 MDBL 4×4, we aim to provide a safe and reliable transportation solution for plantation and mining companies, particularly in supporting worker mobility across extreme terrains,” said Alex Sutisna, Vice President Director of HMSI.

In addition to the new 4×4 bus, Hino also showcased its lineup of commercial vehicles that support various industrial sectors. These include the Hino 500 Series FM 280 JD for heavy-duty dump truck applications, the Hino 500 Series FLX 280 JW for logistics and distribution, and the Hino 300 Series 136 MDLR for efficient cargo transport.
Hino also presented heavy-duty models such as the Hino 700 Series ZY 5041 with dump body and the Hino 700 Series ZS 4141 chassis, demonstrating their applications in mining operations. A special application unit, the Hino 300 Series 136 HDX Fire Fighter, was also displayed to highlight the flexibility of Hino chassis for customized industrial needs.
Through its participation in GIICOMVEC 2026, Hino reaffirmed its commitment to supporting customers’ business operations through its Total Support concept. This includes comprehensive after-sales service, genuine spare parts availability, an extensive dealer network, and digital platforms such as My Hino and Hino Connect, which enable customers to monitor vehicle performance in real time.
“Hino recognizes that every vehicle plays a critical role in maintaining business continuity. We will continue to deliver reliable commercial vehicle solutions tailored to the needs of various industries, while contributing to the growth of transportation and the national economy,” Alex concluded.
